Everyone knows that our children are the future, and that’s just as true in church as in life. That’s why we make it a priority to give our kids a solid Biblical foundation. We have multiple options for kids from nursery age through 5th grade in our kids program. We offer age appropriate classes during our Christian Education hour at 930, and your kids will also enjoy Kids Church during our main service at 9:30.
NBCC has a thriving youth group. Under the leadership of Darren and Dallis Fontenot, our 6th through 12 grade students are being prepared to carry their faith into adulthood. Middle school and high school students have separate classes during our Christian Education hour at 930 every Sunday, and they come back together as a larger group on Wednesday Evenings. (We have a limited Wednesday schedule through the summer, with the group meeting only on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Weekly youth group meetings resume in September). On top of all that, the middle school group attend a week long summer camp in June, and the high school group will be traveling to Corvallis at the end of July to attend the CIY conference.
Proverbs 27:17 (ESV) Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
We don’t like to admit it, but we need each other. So whether it’s a weekly men’s Bible study, an occasional camping or fishing trip, or basketball on the 1st and 3rd Sunday every month, we make it a point to get together, support each other, and build each other up. We need help being the godly husbands and fathers that God intended us to be, and we’ve found that doing life together makes that easier to do.
Whether you’re a stay at home mom or a working mom, a college student or retired professional, single or married, or anywhere in between, you have a tremendous impact in the kingdom of God and in the lives of the people you know. And at NBCC, you have a place. You might be leading a department, or you might be quietly serving in the background, but you are critical to the mission. We couldn’t do what we do without you.
One of the most impactful times in our women’s ministry is the annual women’s retreat in October. It’s a time to get away from the kids, the job, and the responsibilities of your life. It’s a time of refreshing and renewal. It’s a time when relationships are deepened, and new friendships are formed.
But don’t just wait for the retreat. Our women’s ministry also has regular get-togethers, Bible studies, and reading clubs. There is something for everyone, and you are welcome here.
Jesus told his followers that the 2 greatest commandments are to love God, and love people. In fact, one of the ways that we love God IS by loving others. We take that seriously. There are a number of ways we work to impact the lives of people around us with the good news that Jesus loves them. Here are a few of our ministries that are specifically designed to love people who are not already part of God’s family:
Annual Christmas giving tree program in a local elementary school for families who are struggling financially.
Church in the Park on the last Sunday of every month throughout the summer with a free hot dog feed following the service. Like all of our services, the public is encouraged to participate.
We will be hosting Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University for the first time this coming September, with additional dates in the future. This program is designed to teach godly financial principles and help people get out of debt.
Idaho’s first (and best) Strengths Finder coaches are active members of NBCC. They are working on adapting a format that will be offered to the community.
We financially support Boise Bible College and New Hope Christian Ministries of Pakistan
