“Believe” Sermon Series
Believe - Patience
Nate Wheeler brings the message on "patience" today in our Believe series. You are a work in progress.
Believe - Hope
Biblical hope is a confident assurance based on evidence, not a wish for a good outcome. No one other than a follower of Jesus has a reason for real hope, since no one but Jesus can offer it.
Believe - Self-Control
Self control is not about trying harder, but about yielding fully. Self-Control is a fruit of the spirit that the follower of Christ will grow in as they remain connected to Jesus.
Believe - Peace
True peace is only available through Jesus, the Prince of Peace. The peace the world offers is an outside-in process, that is dependant on our circumstances. The peace of God is an inside-out process, dependant on the Holy Spirit
God never promised that you would be happy (circumstantial), but he does promise a source of true joy (unconditional). The follower of Jesus will have the fruit of the spirit (including joy) in ever increasing amounts.
Believe - Love
Pastor Bruce kicks off the 3rd mini-series in the Believe series where we explore how a follower of Jesus is to be like Jesus. This weeks message looks at the first fruit of the Fruit of the Spirt, love. The key idea is; "I am committed to loving God and loving others."
Believe - Sharing My Faith
Key Idea: I share my faith with others to fulfill God's purposes. Your story is a powerful tool to share what God has done in your life. It's your story, but it doesn't belong to you. It belongs to the author, and He expects you to share it.
Believe - Giving My Resources
this week's key idea: "I give my resources to fulfill God's purposes." There are more verses in the Bible dealing with money than dealing with prayer and faith combined. The reason: God doesn't need your money, but he knows that money is the number #1 contender with Him for our affection.
Believe - Offering My Time
Nate Wheeler takes us through this weeks chapter in the Believe series; offering my time. Each of us have a limited amount of time. As followers of Jesus, we need to invest out time in fulfilling God's purposes.
Believe - Spiritual Gifts
If you are a follower of Jesus, God has placed His Holy Spirit in you as a gift, and the Holy Spirit has gifted you for service in the church (the body of Christ). Are you using His gift, or have you left it sitting on the shelf?
Believe - Biblical Community
Whether you're an introvert or an extrovert, you have a built in need to be in community. You were created that way. It's part of being an image-bearer of a God who exists in perfect community; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Life just doesn't make sense when you are not connected to God, and not connected to other people.
Believe - Total Surrender
Total surrender is an all in dedication of your life to God's purposes. Tune is as guest preacher and New Beginnings founding elder Bruce Wheeler brings us the message this week.
Believe - Single-mindedness
Single-mindedness simply indicates having one driving purpose. For the follower of Jesus, the key idea behind single-mindedness is: "I focus on God and His priorities for my life." Worry and doubt are the 2 killers of single-mindedness. Find some practical guidance for dealing with these killers in this message.
Believe - Bible Study
Key idea - "I study the Bible to know God and his truth and to find direction for my daily life." Christians know that the discipline of Bible study is valuable, but we all wish that we were better at it. Listen in as Chris provides some practical guidance to take your bible study up a notch.
Believe - Prayer
It's incredible that God stops to listen when we talk to him. It's a privilege that we take for granted most of the time, but as hard as it is to believe, he wants to hear from you. Jesus gave us a model of what prayer should look like, but at it's most basic, prayer is simply a conversation with God.
Believe - Worship
Worship is about more than just music. Worship involves loving God with your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Check out this message on worship for some practical tips on how to give your attention, affection, and ability to God as an act of worship
Believe - Eternity
The Bible teaches that we were made to live forever with God. For the follower of Christ, the fact of the resurrection is of extreme importance. If Jesus was NOT resurrected, we might as well just live it up. But if he was..., that changes everything.
Believe - Stewardship
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it... Psalm 24:1 Because everyone and everything belongs to God, it makes a difference what we do with the resources he has entrusted to us. We are managers, not owners.
Believe - Humanity
We know that God not only loves us, but He loves our neighbors as well. Even the ones who don't look or act like us. What does that mean for us?
Believe - Church
Some people like to think they can stay home and watch church over Facebook. Others think they don't need church because they have the Bible--and an understanding with God. We think that God's position on this matter is, at least, worth considering. We're talking about GOD's church, after all.
Believe - Identity In Christ
We spend so much time worrying about what others think of us. It's exhausting. But what does God think of us? If we knew just how God looks at us, we would never care what anyone else thought. Let's take a look at who we are in Christ.
Believe - Salvation
Have you ever wondered if you're saved? What are the requirements for salvation, anyway? You'll find there is a lot of grace involved. Come discover the truth about salvation with us.
Believe - The Bible
Have you ever doubted the authority of the Bible? It's easy when there's so much skepticism around. But the Bible is accurate and authoritative. Come find out why you can be confident in the Bible.
Believe - Personal God
Is God a personal God? How could we possibly know that? Come explore with us as we look at the evidence for God's intimate involvement in our everyday lives.
Believe - God
As we dive into the believe series, we have to answer some natural questions first. Before we can go any deeper into what we believe, we have to know, who is Jesus and who is God? The answers to these questions will greatly influence how we proceed.
